Receptionist

JOB SUMMARY:
Acts as receptionist and telephone attendant relaying incoming and interoffice calls. Handles incoming and outgoing district mail.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Operates Horizon Telephone System to relay incoming and interoffice calls.
  2. Greets all visitors courteously, determines their needs, and directs them to the proper person and/or office.
  3. Receives, sorts, and posts all incoming mail from U.S. Post Office, courier services, and schools. Receives all outgoing mail daily, adds postage, and sorts for delivery.
  4. Maintains a record of all long-distance calls.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assists other departments as requested or assigned.
  2. Performs related duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  1. High school diploma, or equivalent, preferred.
  2. Written clerical test.
  3. Typing 40 wpm.
  4. Human relations skills to deal effectively with visitors/customers in person or on the telephone.
