Branch Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
To direct the activities of the assigned retail outlet to provide high quality customer service, achieve product sales targets and deliver the service through a trained and motivated staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manages the retail outlet as an income center to achieve income and expense targets.
- Participates in the development of retail goals and sales targets. Reviews targets with staff quarterly and progress against those goals.
- Participates in community activities in the vicinity of the branch location to enhance public awareness of the bank and to leave a positive impression of the bank.
- Overviews the delivery of quality customer service at the branch through personal contact with customers and prospects.
- Participates in the development of branch performance standards in areas such as operating loss control, teller levels of experience, bank secrecy and compliance with corporation policies and procedures.
- Oversee the direction of the branch staff to assure effective utilization of personnel, timely and objective performance evaluations, equitable salary structure and identifiable career paths for qualified and interested candidates.
- Monitors the knowledge and skill levels of branch personnel to identify development and training needs. Participates with corporation training personnel in the development of training programs as needed.
- Meets regularly with staff to communicate objectives and goals, branch operating status and employee input to improve branch performance so that high quality information flows in both directions.
- Encourages supervisory staff to participate in community activities in their market areas.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
- Provides input to the development of sales and advertising strategies for new bank products.
- Experienced branch managers may be assigned to open new branches.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
- Four year college degree, or equivalent banking industry experience
- At least three years branch experience, with one year as an assistant branch manager.
- Strong leadership skills to direct a staff of up to 25 persons
- Well-developed planning skills
- Articulate, well-regarded local citizen
- Ability to listen and communicate well with employees and customers
