Plant Maintenance Engineer
JOB SUMMARY:
Provide maintenance, electrical, and hydraulic engineering support to plant maintenance teams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Presents a commitment to high standards and the ability to inspire those qualities in others to the same high levels.
- Coordinates the efforts of maintenance, electric, and hydraulic work teams and provides maintenance and mechanical engineering support to these teams.
- Manages the facility's maintenance program with special attention to failure analysis and hydraulic pressure analysis.
- Leads department efforts to provide technical training and guidance to management and team members.
- Represents the company's position and interest effectively in dealings with outside contractors, vendors, and engineering consultants.
- Communicates effectively in speaking, writing, and in listening.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- May supervise administration of engineering drawings and files.
- May provide input to facility's quality improvement programs.
- In smaller facilities may direct the machine parts storeroom operation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
- Mechanical engineering degree with advanced work in electricals and hydraulics.
- At least five years work experience in manufacturing industry which practices a participative teamwork approach with a high regard for the individual.
- Demonstrates a style of participative management in problem solving, project implementation, and continuous improvement objectives. Offers a service-oriented willingness to function as a technical resource to work teams and location management.
- Experienced in technical computer language and its applications.
- Ability to manage a large number of projects concurrently.
- Experience with coordinating hazardous materials handling and disposal.
