Sales Forecast Analyst

JOB SUMMARY:
To review individual sales forecasts from sales representatives and develop composite quarterly and annual sales projections by product line.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Review sales forecasts of individual sales representatives, sales district, regional sales organizations, and the composite corporate forecast for reality, adjusting forecasts as business conditions dictate.
  2. Presents composite forecast with comments to general manager of business planning.
  3. Reviews sales data bases regularly, adding new historical data after each month end.
  4. Meets regularly with materials manager to review raw material inventory levels and expected sales trends that will influence buying patterns.
  5. Participates in new product meetings offering information on trends in historical product sales.
  6. Attends regional and national sales meetings to stay attuned to business trends.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  1. Three years' experience in the preparation of sales analyses and forecasts in a marketing environment.
  2. A bachelor's degree in business management or a related field, with emphasis on mathematics or statistics.
  3. Certification in production and inventory control.
